California Exposition and State Fair
Cal Expo and State Fairgrounds is a long-standing client that called upon our team to address storm-related damage across the expansive Cal Expo site. Aging pole lights had been compromised, many beyond repair, prompting a design-forward, safety-first response.
We delivered a complete design-build solution, installing new structural foundations and lighting poles ranging from 25 to 50 feet in height. The upgraded lighting system restored essential lighting and enhanced the site’s overall aesthetics and performance. Every phase, from rigging and placement to testing and final adjustments, was executed with precision to ensure optimal coverage and long-term reliability.
"We used Duston Dougherty Electric to replace 7 storm-damaged light poles on the CA State Fairgrounds. Duston was always prompt and professional and made my job as project manager easy. Public Works projects such as ours can sometimes extend beyond our most ideal timelines however with Duston, all submittals, work, inspections, and project close-out activities took place on time and within budget. Projects big or small will always have issues that come up, however Duston always communicated proactively on the issue and simultaneously proposed various solutions whether it was scheduling, budgeting, or changes in scope. Being a Facility and Project Manager at a very busy event venue, I never had to concern myself if the project was progressing as expected because Duston was consistently communicating on all facets of the project. The installation work was beyond expectations and the follow up to questions very prompt. This was reassuring to me that we had selected the right company for the project. I will not hesitate to look forward to working with Duston Dougherty Electric for our needs in the future."
